Hi! I’m Crissy, an outpatient therapist at Angelus. Thank you for considering me for your counseling needs. I come ready to help with you family with over 22 years of experience and training with children and adolescents, as well as extensive experience working with adults and families. My career began with a specialization in the area of autism but over time I have gravitated more towards working with all school aged children and adolescents. My history and experience has included recognizing the importance of family dynamics and helping families to learn healthier ways to communicate and connect.
Why Work With Me?
Being a kid or teen these days is not easy. There is so much pressure & mixed information coming at them at all times, that it is no surprise that they can become overwhelmed and struggle with how to feel & respond to the events of life as they are happening. Social media, peer pressure, school demands, family challenges, COVID! As an adult I have a hard time wrapping my mind around everything happening and I have 50+ years of practice. Right now your child needs support and guidance so that they can learn healthy and positive skills that they can build off of as they learn to navigate the complexities of life.
I have spent my career working with kids & teens because I am continually inspired by how amazing they can be. They have so much life and potential inside of them, but sometimes they need support & guidance to help them learn to use that in the right way. I enjoy being that gentle guide to help them fully grow into themselves & learn how to thrive. I work to help them learn to set goals they can accomplish and to build their confidence and internal processing along the way.

Coverage: I’m currently in network with Highmark/ BCBS, UPMC, United/Optum, Cigna & Aetna Commercial Plans. Also accepting Apostrophe, several EAPs, and able to utilize several out of network plans!
*Unfortunately, I am Not able to accept any Medicare or Medical Assistance based plans such as UPMC 4 you or Aetna Better Health.

Fun Facts about me:
I love to read and go to the movies. I also enjoy trivia and learning new things. When I really need to relax I will lift weights and spend time with my dogs. The physical pressure and release of weight lifting is so cathartic and my dogs just make everything better no mater what! I love spending time with my “people” (select family, friends, relatives), as they tend to take me out of myself and help me see things from a more positive, humorous point of view.
