About Leann Havelock

Licensed Social worker

School Based Clinician

Hi! I’m LeAnn. As cliché as it might sound, I got into this field because I want to be the person I needed when I was young. I know what it’s like to be a kid wrestling with big emotions and not have someone there to help make sense of them — so I’ve made it my work to take what I’ve learned and pass it on to the kids and teens who need it most. I bring a laid-back, client-focused space where young people feel safe, seen, and never judged.

My heart is with children and youth. Whether a student is navigating anxiety, anger, family stress, or the weight of past trauma, I meet them exactly where they are and help them build the coping skills and confidence to move forward — one step, one conversation at a time.

🌱 My Approach: I work through a trauma-informed lens, because I’ve seen firsthand how much childhood experiences shape a person — both mentally and physically — long into life. I focus on building genuine rapport first, then work alongside each student on the things that matter to them: emotional regulation, healthy coping skills, self-esteem, and finding the parts of themselves that make them, them. My style is strengths-based, steady, and rooted in the belief that every young person has the potential to thrive.

🏫 In the Schools: I’m proud to be a consistent, familiar face at Mohawk School District, primarily based in the Junior/Senior High School. Being school-based means I’m part of the community — not just a name on a form — and I get to support students right in the environment where they spend their days.

Why Work With Leann?

LeAnn brings warmth, steadiness, and a genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential. She believes no child should have to figure out hard feelings alone the way she once did — and she shows up every day to make sure they don’t have to.

She has a special heart for kids navigating the foster care system and those carrying the weight of trauma and loss, meeting them with patience, validation, and a safe, non-judgmental space. Her background includes specialized training in Trauma-Informed Care, Therapeutic Foster Care, SOGIE (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression), and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) — all of which shape the compassionate, culturally-aware way she supports her clients.

If you’re looking for a clinician who will take your child seriously, show up consistently, and make therapy feel safe from day one, LeAnn is a wonderful person to have in your corner.

🎲 Fun Facts about LeAnn!

When she’s not working, LeAnn is happiest spending time with her nephew — her greatest joy — and staying active with daily workouts and walks outdoors when the weather’s nice. She loves to travel, spend time with friends and her partner, and hit the slopes skiing in the winter. And her favorite way to recharge? A good nap.

She shows up as her full, authentic self — and that genuine, down-to-earth warmth comes with her into every session.

Two ways LeAnn supports Mohawk students:

Through Compass, our insurance-based counseling program, LeAnn provides ongoing individual therapy during the school day. Families interested in Compass can reach out anytime to get started.

Through Wellness, our district-funded prevention and early-support program, LeAnn works with students identified and referred by Mohawk school staff.

Coverage: LeAnn is in network with Highmark, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare (UPMC paneling in progress).
