About Danielle Dado

Tweeen , Teen, & Young Adult Therapist

Hi, I’m Danielle. I am a Pre-Licensed therapist working towards completing my hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. In my work with tweens, teens and young adults struggling with anxiety, I focus first on finding out what works best for them, exploring their struggles, past, goals and strengths before moving towards developing a plan for treatment.

I often find myself utilizing the strengths a person already possesses to help them find their path to tackling anxiety. A strengths based approach shows clients struggling with anxiety the endless possibilities of growth and change. Capitalizing on strengths allows them to use mindfulness when situations do not go as they’ve planned, and better allows a person to accept this change. Learning to react instead of losing confidence and feeling overwhelmed. From there, we work on learning ways to manage stress, address triggers, grow skills and find ways in which to put away anxiety and contain the ripple of effects it can have on a person’s life.

How I can Help You/ Your loved one

I love working with the tween to young adult ages because they see the world in their own unique way and can be so motivated to change. With my experience as a teacher and working in the school settings I am capable of understanding this group well and can connect and help them move towards needed growth and change. My ideal clients to work with would be those who struggle with anxiety, depression, or social issues. Helping someone find their voice, their confidence, and their sense of self is one of the most enjoyable task as a therapist.

My Background & Experience

Since August 2012, I have been an English teacher within a public school district. I have completed two Masters programs,  one in Counseling Education and the second in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

There are various activities that I enjoy like reading, writing, crafting, hiking, coaching softball, and volunteering for different organizations such as Relay for Life.

With my focus of working with teens and young adults all of my sessions are during non school hours to prevent causing any additional stress for my clients or their families.
