About Natalie Drozda
licensed professional counselor
PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision
Hi! I’m Natalie, a Licensed Professional Counselor here at Angelus Therapeutic Services. I work with adults and emerging adults trying to heal from addictive/compulsive behaviors, find their place in the world, and work through stressful periods in their life. I tend to have a high energy and hope-building based approach. I am very straightforward and am comfortable having the difficult conversations that all too many people shy away from. My specialties include helping people with behavioral addictions/compulsive behaviors, healing childhood wounds, concerns related to Autism Spectrum Disorder, and sexuality-based issues including but not limited to sexual orientation, sexual functioning, attachment, fear of intimacy, and other relationship difficulties. My doctoral dissertation broadly focused on autism, sexuality, and the use of dating apps. I pride myself on being a disability advocate and sex positive clinician.
Why Work With Me?
I believe that people get “stuck” in life for a variety of reasons. Together, we will work on your ability to identify and reach your goals. Along the way, we will partner to increase your self-insight and your ability to focus on the present moment. When you deeply know yourself and the areas within and outside yourself that may have you stuck, the path toward your goals becomes a little clearer. Therapy isn’t easy. You may discover things you hadn’t planned on uncovering, things you may not feel ready for. They may lead you in a new direction and goals could shift. That is ok, it is part of the growth process.
I have found that when something is bothering you or keeping you from fulfillment, making internal changes is just as important as making external changes. I would be honored to help you get unstuck and walk with you on your path as you explore both the internal and external changes you might make in order to live authentically and know peace.
My style
While I have been told I am a supporting and calming presence, I am absolutely comfortable challenging my clients to expand their growing edge and push outside of their comfort zones. I aid clients in seeing blind spots; meaning, I will let you know if I see something that is concerning to me and will help you begin to align what you want with what you say, do, and think.
